Joseph Enterprises, Inc. is a novelty and gadget company which is owned by NECA (National Entertainment Collectibles Association) and based in San Francisco, California.
Its two most popular products are The Clapper (‘Clap On! Clap Off!) and the Chia Pet (Ch-Ch-Ch-Chia!). The products are advertised on TV and social media – mainly during the Holiday shopping season.
To toy fans, NECA is primarily known as the company that makes action figures, as well as the owner of WizKids games and designer toy company Kidrobot. NECA acquired Joseph Enterprises from its founder, Joe Pedott, in December 2017.
Approximately 15 million Chia Pets and 7 million Clappers have been sold since the products debuted decades ago.
