The YKK Group is a Japanese group of manufacturing companies. As the world's largest zipper/zip manufacturer, YKK Group is most famous for making zippers; however, it also manufactures other fastening products, architectural products and industrial machinery.
The worldwide parent company, still privately held, is YKK Corporation with headquarters in Japan. Administrative headquarters are in Tokyo, and manufacturing headquarters are located where the Company was originally founded, in Kurobe, on the far side of the big island of Japan. The American subsidiary is YKK Corporation of America with headquarters in Marietta, Georgia.
The YKK Group currently does business in 71 countries/regions worldwide based on a geographical management structure divided into six blocs - 1) North and Central America; 2) South America; 3) Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA); 4) China, 5) Asia, and 6) Japan.
The YKK Group files petitions for the seizure of counterfeit YKK goods at various Customs Agencies. In addition to identifying counterfeiters, the confiscation of fake products at customs has worked effectively to stop the distribution of such goods and helps clamp down on counterfeiting activities.
