Magpul was founded in 1999 with the intent of developing a simple device to aid in the manipulation of rifle magazines while reloading under stress. The company's name comes from this original product called the Magpul.
Over the last decade Magpul has continued to grow and develop using much the same mission and process with a focus on innovation, simplicity, and efficiency.
The company has three divisions as of 2008: Magpul Industries, which manufactures firearms accessories etc.; Magpul Professional Training & Simulation (PTS), founded in 2007, which manufactures accessories for airsoft; and Magpul Dynamics, founded in 2008, which delivers firearms training, including instructional videos.[
Magpul:
Magpul primarily designs, manufactures, and distributes accessories for the AR-15 and M16 rifles, and it has also expanded into the area of complete firearms design.
What is Magpul PTS?
Professional Training & Simulation (PTS) was established in 2007 to meet worldwide demand for airsoft-compatible Magpul accessories and airsoft guns.
Based in Hong Kong, PTS provides high quality airsoft products suitable for both non-lethal training applications and civilian airsoft sporting use. By maintaining the same basic form and function as Magpul weapon components, PTS equipment allows users to safely practice drills and perform scenarios without the use of live weapons or ammunition.
Licensee partnerships have since expanded to include Advanced Armament Corporation (AAC), BattleComp, Falcon Industries (Ergo Grip), GoGun USA, Iron Ridge Arms, Mega Arms, Rainier Arms, Tactical Intent, US Palm and Young Manufacturing Inc.
