This is to alert consumers to a nationwide scam that has affected subscribers to many publications including the Wall Street Journal. A number of subscribers have received fraudulent offers from companies asking them to start or renew The Wall Street Journal or Barron's Magazine subscriptions.
Deceptive notices are sent out styled as "Renewal Notice/New Order" that misleadingly suggest a relationship to The Wall Street Journal or Barron's Magazine. The notices instruct the recipient to send payment to a P.O. Box on Lemmon Drive in Reno, Nevada, a P.O. Box in White City, Oregon, or 850 S Boulder Hwy in Henderson, Nevada.
To determine whether a subscription solicitation is legitimate, check the payment address. Legitimate subscription offers for The Wall Street Journal and Barron's Magazine are handled directly by subscriptions departments in Chicopee, MA or by one of the it's authorized subscription agencies.
