All Garrett hobby and security metal detectors have the Garrett Made in America seal either on the product itself, on the packaging, or both. - The authentic serial number will not rub off.
- The authentic serial number will match the serial number in the battery compartment.
- The authentic AT beeps instantly when the off-on button is pressed.
- Counterfeit AT's usually don't have vibrate only (silent) mode.
- Counterfeits beep when the off-on button is pressed and released.
