All genuine Specter Sights by ELCAN are sold with; Unique serial numbers engraved on the body of the sight; Raytheon ELCAN branded (or authorized reseller) packaging; Raytheon ELCAN branded (or authorized reseller) User's Manual.
If the patented magnification switch lever is missing from a dual role sight -- it is counterfeit.

This is a counterfeit Elcan SpecterDR rifle scope sold on a China website. This vendors sell this fake scope for $560.00, while another vendor on the same auction site offers it for $116.00
The Chinese seller advertises this SpecterDR as :
"100% new hign quality SPECTOR DR 4X rifleScope come with Illuminated Red Dot reticle scope"
Although this riflescope bears the SpecterDR trademark branding, it is a fake.
The cunterfeit Elcan specterDR scopes are also available in tan and camo. Interestlingly, regardless of color, many seem to have the same serial number: #10-08467
