How to identify counterfeit Roche Altuzan - FDA Warning
Roche: Altuzan - FDA Warning
Product Information:
April 5, 2012 -- FDA lab tests have confirmed that a counterfeit version of Roche's Altuzan 400mg/16ml (bevacizumab), an injectable cancer medication found in the U.S. contains no active ingredient.
Even if the identified drugs were not counterfeit, Altuzan is not approved by FDA for use in the United States (it is an approved drug in Turkey).
Altuzan sells for approximately $2500 for 400mg. One treatment may require a vial or more, making this a highly profitable counterfeit product.
Updated Feb 4, 2013
The FDA warned of two additional batches of fake Altuzan shipped to the US. At least one batch contained no active ingredient. The FDA has identified a third batch of counterfeit cancer medication in the United States.
