Amazon Adds To America's Drug and Opioid Crisis
Who will clean up Amazon's dangerous online marketplace?
May 22, 2019 - Los Angeles, CA – Amazon.com is a haven for U.S. and cross-border scam artists to freely unload counterfeit, fake, replica, dangerous and potentially deadly merchandise. However, that is that not the worst of the issues; there are now likely deadly consequences to the fraudulent activities. Amazon sellers are offering counterfeit prescription pill dies to make fake Oxycodone, Alprazolam, Xanax, Viagra, and other prescription drugs, along with tablet binding powder and filler.
The obvious question; for what possible legitimate reason are prescription pill dies offered for sale?
America is fighting an opioid and drug crisis. It is mind-boggling that Amazon is enabling and facilitating the means for fraudulent and dishonest sellers to manufacture dangerous prescription drugs. These products allow illicit pill manufacturers to ply their trade, where they can use any ingredient they want without restraint: rat poison, Fentanyl, Haldol, boric acid, and floor wax, any of which may result in death. Amazon still receives a transaction fee for each item sold.
Amazon's e-commerce marketplace has morphed into an abyss of counterfeit product sales, scams, fake reviews, and allegations of data leaks and employee bribes. Against this backdrop, Amazon continues to promote a public complexion of honesty and ethical dealings and often telling the media and policy makers that it has "zero tolerance" for fakes, fraud, and bad actors -- it's a lie.

The demarcation point of an e-commerce website and a criminal enterprise is becoming increasing clouded. Companies that enable and facilitate criminal activity and profit from dishonest sales which impact consumer safety, jobs, and public trust create a public perception of allowable deception with impunity.
President Trump has warned Amazon to clean up the counterfeits or else, but the message is falling on deaf ears. Amazon operates with immunity, sheltering under a legal loophole; 'we're just a venue.' Whatever their excuse, this enabling behavior must be stopped.
