Press Release

Amazon Warehouse Deals Sends Customer 65 Pounds Of Marijuana

Amazon delivery is not the first of fraudulent and illegal goods.

October 25, 2017 – Los Angeles, CA  – Amazon is already facing a credibility crisis, both as a direct seller of counterfeits, and allowing Amazon Marketplace sellers to peddle counterfeit, fake and replica goods.

Now, Amazon now has a new problem. Two Florida residents received 65 pounds of marijuana from Amazon Warehouse Deals – Amazon’s self-described business entity; “We provide customers with a trusted source to buy open-box and pre-owned products at a discounted price.”

Two Amazon shoppers who ordered four plastic storage bins from Amazon via UPS received them filled with 65 pounds of marijuana, according to an ABC report.

After more than a month of speaking with Amazon over email in hopes of an explanation, the couple said Amazon sent a $150 Amazon gift card and a message that read, "I am unable to do anything else at this time."

It's not the first time Amazon Warehouse Deals has come under fire for selling fraudulent and illegal goods. The Counterfeit Report, a consumer advocate and industry watchdog, has found, purchased and retained counterfeit goods from Amazon Warehouse Deals. One fake item - a trademarked item that does not even exist in any authentic product line - bears an "Amazon Warehouse Deals Inspected" sticker.

Police seized the drugs and launched an investigation. The buyers wisely remain unidentified.
